Our Mission
Since January 2012, Amazing Grace Missions (AGM) has been assisting families in the areas of Colonia Magisterio and Bosques de Progreso near Puerto Vallarta’s Regional Hospital and City Dump. This has evolved into a weekly service in Spanish in Parque del Villar in Bosques de Progreso, held every Saturday at 4:00 pm. In addition to the weekly service, we offer educational training in English, educational assistance, medical assistance, weekly despensas (groceries), clothing, and other items when available.
Since January 2014, AGM’s mission effort was formalized with the formation of Fundacion Amazing Grace Missions, AC (AGM). This is a non-profit foundation authorized by the Mexican government, and it provides the same services as mentioned above. The intent is to support these families both in every way possible so as to provide them a future, and a hope.
AGM offers weekly English classes for the children, school expenses support for the families, computer education, and a 6-month job training program co-sponsored with the state of Jalisco Job Training Organization (IDEFT). Graduates from this program receive certification at the end of the training in the specific area that they were trained, and will receive assistance in finding a job or starting their own business.
You are invited to come out with us if you wish. We have separate services for the children and adults, and we have music and wonderful fellowship. We hand out food supplies and refreshments and from time to time school supplies.
We are excited by the prospects of supporting these families to give them a future and a hope and to become productive members of society.
AGM’s mission efforts continue 12 months out of the year. As with any organization, we need your support in order to continue and to flourish, particularly during the summer slowdown months of June through September.
